BALTIMORE, MD – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) announced its 2024-25 Women's Basketball All-CIAA Teams and major award winners. Bowie State's senior guard Destiny Ryles was named All-CIAA Frontcourt Sunday evening at the annual tip-off banquet.
The Baltimore, Md., native was the offensive catalyst for the Bulldogs, leading the team in scoring with 18.0 points per game, while also adding 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 4.2 steals per contest. Her ability to create offense, knock down shots, and apply relentless defensive pressure made her one of the most complete guards in the CIAA. She elevated her performance in conference play, averaging 18.6 points per game, along with an improved 36.5% shooting from beyond the arc.
Her best game was against Goldey-Beacom, scoring 40 points, three rebounds on 11-16 shooting and 15-17 from the free throw line. She has appeared in 26 games and started 25 for the Bulldogs this season.
Bowie State women's basketball finished 6-4 in the Northern Division which earned a third seed (North) in the conference tournament. The Bulldogs will face the No. 6 seed from the South in Winston-Salem State (6-19, 3-13 CIAA, 2-8 South) on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 4:30 p.m. in CFG Bank Arena. The winner will face the No. 2 seed (South) Livingstone on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.
