BOWIE, MD -- Yassine Kamara and Lorenzo Pelham of Bowie State University men's and women's track and field programs are set to compete in the NCAA Division II Indoor Nationals in Indianapolis, Ind. The championship meet will be held from Thursday, Mar. 13 through Saturday, Mar. 15 at the Fall Creek Pavilion.

Bowie State leads the Central Collegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Conference with two student-athletes competing in the NCAA DII Indoor Nationals, followed by Virginia Union, Lincoln (PA), and Winston-Salem State, each with one athlete competing.
Kamara, the 2024-2025 CIAA Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, will compete in the women's shot put on Saturday, Mar. 15 at 12:30 p.m., while Pelham will race in the men's 60-meter hurdles, with the preliminaries scheduled for Friday, Mar. 14 at 4:30 p.m., followed by the finals on Saturday, Mar. 15 at 2:30 p.m. Both events will take place inside the Fall Creek Pavilion.

Kamara had a standout performance, taking first place and shot-put title with a throw of 13.99 meters, giving the Bulldogs an early boost. Pelham also delivered a strong effort, securing third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.93 seconds, further contributing to the team's solid showing.
