The Bowie State track and field team posted 20 top-five finishes across multiple events at the Towson Twilight Opener at the Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md.
Women's Track & Field
Sprints
- Mylah Faulk placed fifth in the women's 400m, crossing the line in 59.92 seconds, while teammate Fisayo Sule earned a ninth-place finish with a time of 1:04.20.
- In the women's 400m hurdles, Emetem Bezezuh and Aisia Reid finished back-to-back in sixth and seventh, recording times of 1:12.19 and 1:20.23, respectively.
Jumps
- Anijah Medley landed a mark of 10.81m in the women's triple jump to finish sixth, with Zaniya Gavins placing 10th with a jump of 10.10m.
Throws
- Yassine Kamara headlined the throwing events with a first-place finish in the women's discus, recording a mark of 43.32m. Teammates Na'Shae Early (36.13m) and Dasani Robinson (31.87m) also finished in the top 10 while setting new HBCU top-70 marks.
- In the shot put, Kamara and Jazmyne McGirt each achieved personal bests and new HBCU records with throws of 14.87m and 11.47m, placing second and fourth, respectively.
- Early and Belvia Ann Yangue delivered top-10 performances in the women's hammer throw with marks of 34.74m and 32.82m.
- Early returned to the podium in the javelin throw, placing third with a throw of 29.01m, while McGirt followed in sixth place at 24.98m.
Men's Track & Field
Sprints
- Dareon Faircloth and Jaiden Jarrett went head-to-head in the men's 100m dash, finishing second and third with times of 10.58 and 10.64 seconds, respectively.
- In the 200m, both athletes landed in the top 10—Jarrett clocked a personal best of 21.75 seconds for sixth place, while Faircloth followed closely in seventh with a PR of 22.08.
- Benick Akeh delivered a strong showing in the men's 400m dash, claiming second place with a time of 49.06.
- Nathan Jacobs ran a personal best of 2:00.67 in the 800m, earning eighth place and securing a spot on the HBCU top-85 list.
- Bowie State also made an impact in the men's 110m hurdles, placing three athletes in the top 10. Aaron Little, Jr. led the group with a time of 14.88 seconds, followed by Anthony Norman, Jr. (16.18), and Ceque Stevens (16.86).
- In the relays, the Bulldogs' 4x100m team finished fifth with a time of 43.95, while the 4x400m squad secured second place in 3:19.42.
Jumps
- Tareik Jackson finished fifth in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.86m.
- Robert Silinzy secured fourth place in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.60m.
- Ceque Stevens placed fifth in the men's triple jump, setting a personal best of 13.39m.
Throws
- Leandre Lewis placed third in the men's discus with a throw of 42.28m, earning a new HBCU top-40 mark. Isam Banajah followed in seventh with a mark of 37.27m.
- Lewis also claimed third in the men's hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 43.25m and finished ninth in the javelin throw with a new HBCU top-55 mark of 34.22m.
- Two Bulldogs landed in the top five in the men's shot put: Movado Gray threw 14.74m for second place, while Banajah secured fifth with a mark of 12.45m.
