WILLIAMSBURG, VA – The Bowie State men's and women's track and field teams turned in several standout performances at the 2026 Dan Stimson Invitational, hosted by William & Mary College, highlighted by multiple event victories and top-five finishes across sprints, hurdles, jumps, and throws.
Collectively, the Bulldogs recorded several podium appearances, led by standout performances in the relays, sprints, and field events.
Sprints / Relays
The men's 4x100-meter relay team captured first place with a time of 42.60 seconds, while the women's 4x100 relay team placed fifth in 53.31 seconds.
Dareon Faircloth sprinted to gold in the men's 100-meter dash (10.52), followed by teammates
Jaiden Jarrett (fourth, 10.82) and
Marlin Newsome, Jr. (fifth, 10.83). Jarrett also finished fifth in the men's 200-meter dash (22.21), with
Kojo Cunningham taking sixth (22.46).
Kelys Walker led the women in the 200-meter dash, placing third in 26.08 seconds. Walker also posted a sixth-place finish in the women's 100-meter dash (12.54), while teammate
Abigail Mokosso finished 11th (13.21).
Hurdles
Lavelle Hubbard earned third in the men's 400-meter hurdles (1:00.80), while
Tavon Williams placed fifth in the men's 110-meter hurdles (15.81).
Emetem Bezezuh recorded a podium finish for the women, taking third in the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.57).
Jumps
Bowie State excelled in the jumping events, led by
Rebecca Bogy, who won the women's long jump with a mark of 17 feet, 6½ inches. Teammate
Abigail Mokosso added a third-place finish (15'6").
On the men's side,
Princewil Osahon captured first in the high jump (6'0¼"), while
Kahli Davenport won the long jump (18'10¼") and Kenny Stephens claimed first in the triple jump (41'2¾").
Throws
Jazmyne McGirt posted a runner-up finish in the women's javelin (82'5¾"), and
Tatiyana Black placed second in the women's hammer throw (128'2").
Jaeden Warner earned second-place finishes in both the men's shot put (51'4¾") and discus (156'9"), while
Isam Banajah placed second in the men's hammer throw (132'11¼").

The Bulldogs will return to action the following week traveling to Norfolk, Va., to compete in the NSU Invitational hosted by Norfolk State University on Saturday, Apr. 4.
