SAVANNAH, GA — The Bowie State golf team competed at the Savannah State Tournament, hosted at Crosswinds Golf Club, finishing sixth overall with a +111 team score (975) over three rounds.
The Bulldogs posted team scores of 323, 329, and 323 during the 54-hole event. BSU opened the tournament with a 323 in the first round, followed by a 329 in the second round before closing strong with another 323 in the final round.
Peter Tumusiime led the Bulldogs with rounds of 73, 77, and 79, finishing the tournament with a 229 (+13) total.
Jordan Brown followed closely with rounds of 76, 80, and 78 to finish at 234 (+18).
Cruz Medrano recorded rounds of 84, 81, and 80 for a 245 (+29) total, while
Zachery Alford carded rounds of 91, 91, and 86 to finish with a 268 (+52).
Competing individually,
Jonathan Fletcher posted rounds of 90, 92, and 97 during the tournament.
On the women's side,
Whitley Shields represented Bowie State and finished 30th overall with a +63 tournament score.
Bowie State's final-round 323 matched its opening score, highlighting a strong finish for the Bulldogs at the tournament.
