BLUEFIELD, W.V. — The Bowie State golf team competed at the CIAA Northern Division Tournament, hosted by Bluefield State, finishing ninth overall after three rounds of play.
The Bulldogs competed in a 54-hole event, playing 36 holes on day one before closing with 18 holes on day two. Bowie State showed improvement throughout the tournament, highlighted by a strong second round.
Peter Tumusiime led the Bulldogs, recording rounds of 82, 74, and 77 for a 233 (+23) total.
Jordan Brown followed with rounds of 88, 73, and 84 to finish at 245 (+35).
Cruz Medrano carded rounds of 94, 85, and 90 for a 269 (+59) total, while
Jonathan Fletcher posted rounds of 91, 87, and 100 to finish at 278 (+68).
Zachery Alford rounded out the lineup with rounds of 95, 95, and 98 for a 288 (+78) total.
On the women's side,
Whitley Shields competed as an individual, finishing with rounds of 102, 107, and 108 for a 317 (+107) tournament total.

The Bulldogs will prepare to compete in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Golf Championships, scheduled for Monday, April 13, through Tuesday, April 14.
