MEBANE, N.C. — The Bowie State golf team competed at the 2026 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Golf Championships, held at Mill Creek Golf Course, finishing eighth overall with 134 points after three rounds of play.
BSU competed in a 54-hole tournament format, with four scores counting toward the team total in each round.
In Round 1, Bowie State was led by
Peter Tumusiime, who posted a +4 to pace the Bulldogs.
Jordan Brown followed at +7, while Zachary Alford and
Cruz Medrano each carded +15 rounds.
Jonathan Fletcher competed but was not included in the team score, finishing at +19.
During Round 2, Brown led the way with a +5, followed closely by Tumusiime (+6) and Medrano (+8). Fletcher rounded out the scoring four with a +19, while Alford's +24 was not counted toward the team total.
In the final round, Medrano turned in the Bulldogs' best score with a +10, followed by Tumusiime at +11 and Brown at +14. Alford completed the scoring group with a +20, while Fletcher (+30) competed as the non-scoring player.
Tumusiime delivered the most consistent performance for Bowie State across the three rounds, while Brown added a strong showing throughout the championship.
The CIAA Championships marked the final meet of the regular season for the Bulldogs.
