POTOMAC, MD — The Bowie State golf team competed at the Bernie Shootout, hosted by Marymount University, finishing fifth overall at TPC Avenel Farm on Monday, Apr. 6.
The Bulldogs turned in a team score of +62 on the 6,616-yard, par-70 course, competing in a strong field. BSU showed consistency throughout the round, with multiple players improving their play on the back nine.
Jordan Brown led the Bulldogs with a round of 82 (+12), highlighted by a 39 on the back nine to finish 12th overall.
Jonathan Fletcher followed with an 85 (+15), posting a 40 on the back nine to place 19th.
Peter Tumusiime recorded an 86 (+16) to finish 20th overall, while
Cruz Medrano carded an 89 (+19) to place 28th.
Zachery Alford rounded out the lineup with a 95 (+25), finishing 36th overall for Bowie State.
