BOWIE, MD — The Bowie State golf team is set to compete in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Championships on Monday, April 13, through Tuesday, April 14, at Mill Creek Golf Club in Mebane, N.C. Tee time is scheduled for 8 a.m.

Scouting Bowie State Golf
Under first-year head coach Edric Poitier, Bowie State enters the CIAA Championships continuing to build momentum in its inaugural season under new leadership.

The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 200 nationally and No. 27 in the region with an adjusted scoring average of 335.3 through 13 rounds this season. Bowie State has posted a 3-30 overall record in tournament play while competing in five stroke-play events.

Last Timeout for the Bulldogs
Bowie State most recently competed at the Bernie Shootout, hosted by Marymount University, where the Bulldogs finished fifth overall at TPC Avenel Farm on April 6. BSU recorded a team score of 342 (+62) on the 6,616-yard, par-70 course.

Jordan Brown led the Bulldogs with an 82 (+12), highlighted by a 39 on the back nine to finish 12th overall. Jonathan Fletcher followed with an 85 (+15) to place 19th, while Peter Tumusiime carded an 86 (+16) to finish 20th. Cruz Medrano added an 89 (+19), and Zachery Alford rounded out the lineup with a 95 (+25).

The Bernie Shootout marked Bowie State's top finish of the season, as the Bulldogs placed fourth among Division II programs in the field, continuing to show progress against regional competition.

BSU has also competed in both CIAA divisional tournaments this spring and will look to carry that experience into the conference championship event.
