BOWIE, MD – The Bowie State golf team is prepared to compete in the Bernie Shootout hosted by Marymount University on Monday, Mar. 16, at the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Potomac, MD. Tee time is set for 8 a.m.

Bulldogs Top Leaders
- Peter Tumusiime led the Bulldogs at the Savannah State Tournament, carding rounds of 73, 77, and 79 to finish with a 229 (+13) total.
- Jordan Brown followed with rounds of 76, 80, and 78, finishing the tournament at 234 (+18).
- Cruz Medrano recorded rounds of 84, 81, and 80 for a 245 (+29) total across the 54-hole event.
Last Timeout
The finished sixth overall at the Savannah State Tournament at Crosswinds Golf Club, posting a 54-hole team score of 975 (+111). The Bulldogs opened the event with a 323 in the first round, followed by a 329 in round two before closing the tournament with another 323 to match their opening-round score.
Tumusiime led BSU with rounds of 73, 77, and 79 to finish with a 229 (+13) total, while Brown followed with rounds of 76, 80, and 78 to post a 234 (+18). Medrano recorded rounds of 84, 81, and 80 for a 245 (+29) total, and
Zachery Alford finished with a 268 (+52) after carding rounds of 91, 91, and 86.
Jonathan Fletcher also competed individually for the Bulldogs, shooting rounds of 90, 92, and 97.
On the women's side,
Whitley Shields represented Bowie State and finished 30th overall with a +63 tournament score.

The Bulldogs will open up conference play competing in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Tournament at the Quail Ridge Golf Course in Sanford, N.C.
