COMPLETE RESULTS
(GREENSBORO, N.C.) Seniors Lakesha Carney (Hampton, VA, Denbigh) and Aaron Johnson (Temple Hills, MD, Oxon Hill) contributed Bowie State's best performances at the Aggie Relays hosted by North Carolina A&T State University.
Carney led the Lady Bulldogs with a fourth place finish in the Discus (41.24m / 135-04) and place fifth overall in the Shot Put (12.92m / 42-04.75). Johnson, who has already qualified for the nationals, placed second overall in the High Jump (2.05m / 6-08.75).
Other Lady Bulldogs to finish in the top five include Christina Rowles (Upper Marlboro, MD, Oxon Hill) and Nicole Robinson (Columbia, MD, Atholton). Rowles placed fifth in the High Jump (1.50m / 4-11.00) and Robinson placed fifth in the 400 Meter Hurdles (1:07.39).
Robinson also finished seventh in the 100 Meter Hurdles (14.84). Lauren Hunt (Severn, MD, Meade) placed sixth in the 400 Meter Hurdles and teammate John'nae Allen Davis came in 10th in the 100 Meter Dash (12.36).
The Bowie State women's "A" team finished third in the 4x800 Meter Relay (9:33.34) and the 1600 Sprint Medley team placed fourth overall (4:08.53).
In the men's division, Michael Wallace (Medford, NY, Patchogue Medford) was a fourth place finisher in the 5000 Meter Run (18:43.39) and Collen Cumberbatch also had a fourth place finish in the Shot Put (14.65m / 48-00.75). Anthony Kiser (Baltimore, MD, Western) was the final individual Bulldogs participant to finish in the top 10, placing sixth in the 400 Meter Hurdles (56.17)
Bowie State's 4x800 Meter Relay "A" team placed a close second with a time of 7:45.33. Host North Carolina A&T State won the event with a time of 7:45.14.
The Bowie State track and field teams' next event will take place Friday (April 9) at Virginia State University.
