(LAUREL, Md.) The defending CIAA Champions of Bowie State dominated the conference competition at the conference Round-Up (2/4-6), claiming first with 15,344 total pins.
BSU's Lady Bulldogs went 14-1 over the weekend, accounting for 11,150 Team Total Pins and 4,194 Baker Total Pins.
The highlight of the event hosted by Bowie State, was senior
Verra Diggs (Fort Washington, MD, Oxon Hill, Hampton Univ.) rolling a perfect (300) game on opening day (2/4). This marked the first time in the history of the CIAA that a perfect game has been bowled. Diggs, the Round-Up MVP, averaged 218.67 and knocked down 1,312 pins.
Fayetteville State placed second (14,472 total pins), Elizabeth City State was third (14,016 total pins), Saint Paul's (12,955 total pins) claimed fourth and Winston-Salem State rounded out the top five (12,459 total pins).

Tycora Brown (Pocomoke City, MD, Pocomoke) had a good weekend as well, rolling a personal high-game of 237 and averaged 203.50. Freshman
Taccarra Matthews (Laurel, MD, Laurel) and senior
Rebecca Frusciante (Mahopac, NY, Mahopac) averaged 187.17 and 178.00 respectively. Senior
Dominique Carroll (Bowie, MD, Bowie) and freshman
Belinda Burns (Temple Hills, MD, St. John's) rounded out Bowie State's scorers with 1,054 total pins (175.67 average) and 858 total pins (171.60 average) respectively.
Bowie State returns to the lanes February 18-20 at a CIAA Northern Division event hosted by Chowan University.
