NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The trio of sophomores Christopher Thomas, Ndjami Chick and junior Bryan Williams were Bowie State's top three finishers at the Christopher Newport University Holiday Open at the Freeman Center. COMPLETE RESULTS

There were no team scores in this meet, but Thomas was the top Bulldogs competitor with a second place finish in the men's Triple Jump, going over the bar at 14.36m. Thomas competed in the Long Jump and high Jump as well, placing ninth and 10th respectively.  Williams competed in the Triple Jump, finishing fifth with a jump of 13.89m.

Chick finished in the top 10 in two events, placing sixth in the 3000 Meter Run (9:25.46) and ninth overall in the 5000 Meter Run (16:37.61).

Sophomore Sonny Hicks made his mark at the Holiday Open, returning to campus in eighth place in the 800 Meter Run. Senior Dana Smothers and sophomore Jalame Gomez ran in the 400 Meter Dash, finishing with times of 51.14 and 51.67 respectively.
