Virginia Beach, VA -- The Bowie State men's track and field team had an explosive outing at the Marlin Invitational on January 31, held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. Several Bulldogs delivered personal record performances in a competitive meet.
Sprinters/Distance
Lorenzo Pelham continued his dominance in the 60-meter hurdles, securing first place with a time of 8.14. His teammate, Aaron Little Jr., wasn't far behind, finishing second with a personal best of 8.30. Jaiden Jarrett showcased his speed in the 60-meter dash, placing fifth with a personal record of 6.90.
Marlin Newsome Jr. impressed in the 200-meter dash, taking first place with an outstanding personal best of 21.60—ranking in the top 30 nationally for Division II.
Dominic Boston also delivered a strong performance, finishing fourth in the 400-meter dash with a personal record of 50.23.
Jumpers/Throwers
In the long jump, Robert Silinzy earned eighth place with a leap of 6.56m. Bailey Washington finished in eighth overall with a mark of 13.05m in the men's triple jump. Leandre Lewis placed ninth with a personal record throw of 13.71m in the weight throw.
Both Tareik Jackson and Jaieri Barber achieved personal bests in the men's high jump, clearing 1.95 meters and 1.80 meters, respectively. Jackson's jump also secured him a No. 92 ranking in Division II. Jaeden Warner earned a third-place finish in the men's shot put, with a throw of 14.71m.
