Lady Bulldogs Play Better But Fall in Straight Sets to Pace

SHEPERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The Bowie State Lady Bulldogs volleyball team improved its play in their second match of the season but were defeated 25-16, 25-16 and 25-11 by Pace University. The setback drops the BSU record to 0-2 overall.

Sophomore Alexis Fisher led the Lady Bulldogs with six kills to go along with two service aces, three digs and one block solo. Senior Brelyn Finley contributed five kills while redshirt sophomore Marissa Martinez picked up a team-high 16 digs. Senior Briana Flowers tallied 12 assists and added five digs.

Bowie State will be back in non-conference action on Saturday (9/7) facing Lock Haven at 11:30 am in the Holiday Inn Ram Rumble. The Lady Bulldogs close out the weekend with a 6 pm match against host Shepherd University.
