MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - The Bowie State University bowling team competed in the second CIAA event of the season January 23rd-25th and finished in first place among the Northern Division teams with a perfect 12-0 record.
COMPLETE RESULTSThe Lady Bulldogs tallied 13,301 total pins which included a Baker Match pin count of 4,594. Elizabeth City State University finished second with a 9-3 record (11,995 pins) followed by Virginia State with a 6-6 mark (11,722 pins). Virginia Union rounded out the Northern Division standings with a fifth place finish and 1-11 record (10,499 points).
Senior
Ambrianna Bankston (Ft. Belvoir, Md.) led the Lady Bulldogs with 1,702 total pins (189.11 average) that included a high-game of 221 on day one of the weekend event. Junior
Ashley Wade (Richmond, Va.) averaged 169.40 while junior
Keyandra Bankston (Ft. Belvoir, Va.) finished the weekend with a 167.00 average.

Shayla Lightfoot (Henrico, Va.) rolled a team high-game of 224 and totaled 1,850 pins (185.00 average) and sophomore
Sierra Davis (Dayton, Ohio) averaged 164.25 for Bowie State.
Makyra Bankston (Ft. Belvoir, Va.) also participated for the Lady Bulldogs, rolling games of 147, 165 and 165.
On opening day, Bowie State defeated Virginia Union (875-642), Chowan (953-793), Virginia State (961-834) and Elizabeth City State (841-794). On day two of team play, the Lady Bulldogs edged Virginia Union 838-831 and defeated Virginia State (831-748), Elizabeth City State (880-771) and wrapped up the evening with a 863-736 victory over Chowan.
In Sunday's Baker matches, the Lady Bulldogs were never really challenged, defeating Virginia Union (855-701), Chowan (884-653), Virginia State (811-751) and Elizabeth City State 1069-765.
Bowie State returns to the lanes February 13-15, hosting CIAA Round-Up at the AMF Laurel Lanes.
