MILLSBORO, Del. – The Bowie State women's bowling team season ended on Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the NCAA Championships, falling short to Division I University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

The UMES Hawks (75-44) led the Mega Match 1-0 after picking up an 865-750 win the in the traditional team game to open up the afternoon. However, the BSU Bulldogs (57-34) led the host by 21 pins after two Baker games at Millsboro Lanes.
The Bulldogs defeated the Hawks 164-158 and 183-168 in the first two baker matches before the University of Maryland Eastern Shore captured a 192-151 victory in the third baker match.
Bowie State won baker matches 4-5 by scores of 180-179 and 182-171 respectively but UMES claimed the victory by a total pin count of 868-860 eliminating the Bulldogs.
