PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Bowie State University men's and women's track and field team competed at the 2019 Penn Relays from April 24-27.
Freshman
Davon Carroll continued to impress by placing seventh in 100-meter dash with the time of 10.50. The first-year runner improved by two spots from Friday's event where he finished ninth in 10.66.
In men's 4x100-meter relay, Bowie State placed seventh in 41.67.
Demontay Snowden,
Stedman Cook,
Frank Bailey and
Davon Carroll were the participants in the event.
In women's 4x200-meter relay, BSU finished 27th with the time of 1:44.48.
Amaree' Yates,
Abigail Hunt,
Kayla Tucker and
Soljala Jones participated in the event.
The Bulldogs men's 4x200 squad (
Davon Carroll,
Demontay Snowden,
Robert Thomas, and
Stedman Cook) placed 15th in 1:27.60.
Sophomore
Kenny Fuentez placed 23rd in discus throw with the score of 43.01m, while sophomore
Soljala Jones managed ninth in high jump with 1.59m score. Jones was also a participant in the long jump and placed 17th with the score of 5.38m.
Bowie State is set to host the 2019 CIAA Track and Field Championships on May 4-5 in Bowie, Md.
