TOWSON, Md. - The 7-Time CIAA Champions of Bowie State University struggled at the James Brown Invitational over the weekend hosted by Morgan State University, compiling a 2-10 record and placed 15th overall among the 15 competing teams. Mount St. Mary's placed first overall followed by Kutztown in second, Duquesne in third, Sacred Heart fourth and Howard rounded out the top five.
The Bulldogs record four losses in Friday's (2/14) opening day Baker State play, falling to Chestnut Hill (877-768), Morgan State (825-804), Felician (962-864) and Howard (834-717). Bowie State's two wins came on day two (7/15) in the teams' first two matched of the day, edging Bloomfield (867-865) and knocked off Division I Norfolk State (809-795). In matches three through five, Bowie State lost to Kutztown (846-817), Virginia State (809-786) and Coppin State (900-858). On Sunday (2/16), Bowie State had setbacks to Norfolk State (745-658) and Virginia State (1191-1158) in Baker System scoring matches to close out the weekend.
The Bulldogs will return to the lanes March 13-15 at CIAA North/South Event #3 in Richmond, Va.
