BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State women's bowling team will finalize its fall portion of the season as the team heads to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Event I in Raleigh, N.C. hosted by Shaw University on Nov. 11-13 at the Stars and Strikes Family Entertainment Center located at 4020 Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27604.
Seven other CIAA institutions competing this weekend will join the Bulldogs, including Virginia Union, Virginia State, Elizabeth City State of the Northern Division and Fayetteville State, Johnson C. Smith, Livingstone and Shaw of the Southern Division.
The tournament will kick off on Friday (11/11) at 10:40 a.m. with team matches one through five, followed by team matches (1-4) on Saturday (11/12). Baker matches is set for Sunday (11/13) at 8:40 a.m.
Bowie State is coming off a 5-8 overall record at the VUU Invitational last weekend in Richmond, Va. As a team, the Bulldogs highest game was 791 during the fifth traditional match, which was against the Trojans of Virginia State. Individually, senior
Olivia Watts (Fort Washington, MD) placed 12
th out of 56 bowlers, combining for 761 total pinfalls and an average of 152.20 – her highest game was 160 during game two.
Up next, the Bulldogs will return and compete two regular season tournaments in the spring beginning in February 10-12 before the CIAA Championship in March.
