BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie State track and field team will travel to St. Mary's City, Md., for the Seahawk Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 1 hosted by St. Mary's College at the Jamie L Roberts Stadium.

Field events will start the Seahawk Invitational at 9 a.m. with the men's and women's hammer throw. Running events will start at 11:30 a.m. featuring the women's and men's 3000m steeplechase.

Last Time Out
Bowie State opened the 2023 outdoor season at the Dan Stimson Memorial Invite last weekend in Williamsburg, Va. Collectively, the Bulldogs tabbed 
eight top-3 finishes on the men's side highlighted by Nicholas Kent's second place finish in the 400m hurdles (1:07.85) while the women produced three top-3 finishes with Zahra Graham leading the charge with a silver in the high jump at 1.46m. 

The Bulldogs combined for a plethora of personal records at the Dan Stimson Memorial Invitational.

CIAA Field Athlete of the Week
The Bulldogs picked up its first weekly conference accolade for the first time in 2023 with freshman Jamesia Poindexter earning the CIAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week. Poindexter battled to capture a personal record in the shot put with a mark of 10.34m, the discus throw (21.53m) and the hammer throw (32.31m). She was third overall in the shot put and discus while in the hammer throw she finished fourth overall.

BSU will compete in the Gallaudet Bison Classic in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, Apr. 8.
