About Bowie State
The Bulldogs are finishing off a season that featured key standouts on both the men's and women's side. Notable highlights from this season came from Yassine Kamara in shot put who posted the best throw in the CIAA (13.01m) at the VMI Invitational, that performance led to a CIAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week selection.
Movado Gray posted multiple top-three finishes in the shot put with his best being (14.98m) at the Seahawk Shootout earlier this season. Darrien Ocean was crowned champion in the 60m dash (6.82) at the VCU Invitational. Ocean's time is currently ranked second in the CIAA.
Last Championship Outing
Last season, the Bowie State men's team finished seventh overall in the CIAA Championships highlighted by Joshua Carter's silver medal in the pole vault (3.85m) in route of the Bulldog's five top-five finishes. The Bulldogs women finished ninth overall as Claflin men and Fayetteville State women claimed the CIAA titles in 2022-23.
