BOWIE, MD --- The Bowie State men's and women's track and field team is set to open the 2024 spring outdoor season on Saturday, Mar. 16 at the Dan Stimson Memorial Meet at Zable Stadium in Williamsburg, Va., hosted by William & Mary.

About the Meet
The running events will began the Dan Stimson Memorial meet at 1 p.m. with the steeplechase and the final running event at 4:15 p.m., featuring the 4x400m relay. The field events will take place at 10:30 a.m., beginning with the men's shot put with the last field event at 3 p.m. featuring the women's discus. Joining Bowie State in the Dan Stimson Invitational will be Christopher Newport, George Mason, Virginia Commonwealth, Virginia Union, Regent and William & Mary.

About the Bulldogs Track and Field Program
The Bulldogs men's and women's track and field programs are eager to start the 2024 outdoor season. On the men's side, BSU is looking to improve upon an eighth place finish in last year's conference standings while the women will also look to do the same after finishing ninth in the conference championship.

During the indoor season, both programs had some notable highs including Yassine Kamara silver at the 2024 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), throwing a mark of 12.99m in the shot put as Bowie State finished seventh overall with a combined 18 points at the JDL Fast Track. Meanwhile on the men's side, BSU tacked on 10 top-10 finishes collectively for an eighth place finish (22 points).

Looking Ahead
Bowie State will travel local to compete in the Maryland Invitational on Friday, Mar. 22 through Saturday, Mar. 23 at College Park.
