BOWIE, MD -- The Bowie State women's basketball team will host a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) showdown against an opponent the Elizabeth City State Vikings at home on Saturday, Jan. 25, for 90's Day inside the A.C. Jordan Arena. Game time is set for 2 p.m., kicking off the afternoon doubleheader action.
The doubleheader will be streamed live on the Bulldog Sports Network.

• Small clutch bags, measuring 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle or strap
• All other bags will not be permitted. A list of prohibited bags includes but is not limited to: purses, backpacks, drawstring bags that are not clear, briefcases, coolers, fanny packs, luggage, computer bags, camera bags, binocular cases, and diaper bags. Guests are encouraged to return unauthorized items to their vehicles. Bowie State University cannot safeguard items that are not permitted into the stadium.

Last Whistle
The Bulldogs (12-6, 6-2 CIAA, 1-1 North) dropped its last outing against CIAA foe Virginia Union University (11-4, 4-3 CIAA, 1-1 North), 71-63, inside A.C Jordan Arena in Bowie Md. Destiny Ryles led the Bulldogs with 19 points and five rebounds while Ayasha Thomas added 17 points and two rebounds off the bench. Also, Beulah Odiong fell two points shy of notching a double-double scoring eight points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Bowie State's second unit outplayed the Lady Panthers bench unit 25-7.
The Ryles Show Continues
Ryles has been dominating all season for the Bulldogs as she leads the team with 18.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 4.1 steals per game. Ryles has been named CIAA Player of the Week three times this season for BSU. The Baltimore, Md., native ranks first in the conference in steals with 73 on the season while ranking third in scoring and free-throw attempts.
About Elizabeth City State
ECSU enters Saturday's match (7-9, 4-4 CIAA, 0-2 North) following a loss against CIAA foe Lincoln (PA) University, 65-54 at home on Jan. 23 inside the R.L. Vaughn Center. Rashauna Grant tallied a double-double for the Vikings scoring 17 points while grabbing 15 rebounds. Tiana Amos also scored in double-figures totaling 13 points and two rebounds.
Through 16 games, Elizabeth City State is averaging 61.4 points, 36.7 rebounds, 13.7 assists, and 9.8 steals this season. Grant leads the team in the following: 8.2 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per outing. The team's passer is Shikira Perry who averages 2.2 assists per outing. ECSU is ranked as the fifth-best defense in the CIAA, only allowing 60.3 points per game.
This is head coach Ebony Tanner's first season at the helm of the Vikings program, as Elizabeth City State went 20-11 overall and 10-7 in the conference during the 2023-24 season. ECSU was selected to finish fourth in the CIAA Preseason Poll.
Looking Ahead
Bowie State will travel to the "Old Dominion" to face CIAA opponent Virginia State University in a northern division match-up on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m. inside the VSU Multipurpose Center in Petersburg, Va.
