MIDLOTHIAN, VA -- The Bowie State women's bowling team achieved a perfect 12-0 record at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Event II hosted by Virginia Union University this past weekend at Bowl America Southwest Lanes on Jan. 24-26. With this weekend's 12-0 mark, the Bulldogs improve to 21-2 overall and in conference play.
How It Happened
The Bulldogs opened play on the first day going 5-0, defeating opponents Virginia Union twice (865-762, 887-740), Virginia State twice (765-619 and 801-678) and Elizabeth City State (833-642).
TaVera Johnson spun a 226-game during the Bulldogs win over the Panthers in the first match-up on the day.
BSU got off a 4-0 start during day two of CIAA Event II, defeating ECSU twice (794-621) and both VUU (836-669) and VSU (808-609) led by a 218-game from Johnson who continues to shine for the Bulldogs.
During Bakers, the Bulldogs kept rolling with three straight victories. An 708-642 win over Virginia State, pounced on the Lady Vikings 810-655, highlighted by a 196-game from
Jessica Watts. Against Virginia Union, they rolled to a 816-754 win to conclude the weekend.
