CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Bowie State track and field senior Yassine Kamara has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday. This accolade marks Kamara's second CIAA weekly honor for the indoor season.

The Hyattsville, Md., native showed up and showed out at the Widener Invitational held at the Ott Center in Philadelphia, Pa., last weekend. Her outstanding performance included a first-place finish with a remarkable throw of 13.56m, a mark that's been very consistent in this indoor season. The Bulldogs will pack their bags and travel to Virginia Beach, Va., for a quick one-day trip for the Bulldogs at the Marlin Invitational on Friday, Jan. 31 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
