Virginia Beach, VA -- Yassine Kamara continued her stellar season as the Bowie State women's track and field team delivered strong performances at the Marlin Invitational on January 31 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. Kamara secured first place in the women's shot put with a personal best throw of 14.62 meters, earning a No. 12 ranking in Division II.

Emetem Bezezuh set a personal record in the 800-meter dash, finishing 10th with a time of 2:29.60.
Anijah Medley also set a personal record, placing in the top 20 with a time of 8.23 in the women's 60 meters dash. Junior
Destiny Lewis secured 19th place in the 800-meter dash.
Throws
In the long jump, Bulldogs
Anijah Medley (4.71 meters) and
Zaniyah Gavins (4.23 meters) both finished in the top 20. Medley also excelled in the triple jump, placing ninth with a leap of 10.37 meters, while Gavins recorded a jump of 9.56 meters. In the high jump,
Kyera Spriggs placed 14th with a best mark of 1.38 meters

Na'Shae Early and
Belvia Ann Yangue capped off strong performances in the women's weight throw, both finishing in the top 20 with marks of 11.47 meters and 10.33 meters, respectively.
