GWYNN OAK, MD — The Bowie State women's bowling team (14-7, 11-1 CIAA, 11-1 North) competed at the Coppin State Invitational from Saturday, Nov. 15, through Sunday, Nov. 16, finishing 3-6 on the weekend.
On day one, in a five-person team match format, the Bulldogs struggled in the early matches, falling to Delaware State (656-905), St. Anselm (677-845), Coppin State (828-867), and Kutztown (845-907) before closing the day with a 889-578 victory over Norfolk State.
Arianna Clayton led the way with a game-high 226 in the win over Norfolk State.
The Bulldogs bounced back on day two in the Baker format, opening with wins over Chestnut Hill (863-636) and Howard (863-827). Bowie State then fell to Morgan State (750-936) and Kutztown (716-781) to wrap up the weekend.

The Bulldogs will return to action this weekend, traveling to West Long Branch, N.J., to compete in the Garden State Classic, hosted by Monmouth University, from Friday, Nov. 21, through Sunday, Nov. 23.
