BOWIE, MD – The Bowie State women's bowling team (14-7) will travel to New Jersey this weekend to compete in the Garden State Classic hosted by Monmouth University from Friday, Nov. 20 through Sunday, Nov. 23 in West Long Branch, N.J.
Bulldog Leaders
The Bulldogs have been fueled this season by standout performances from Arianna Clayton and Janaye Monroe, who have consistently led Bowie State on the lanes.
Clayton has been a key force for BSU, posting multiple high games throughout the season. She opened the CIAA North/South Event I with a game-high 211 in the first match against Elizabeth City State and helped the Bulldogs dominate the weekend. The Dundalk, Md., native carried that momentum into the Coppin State Invitational this past weekend, where she spearheaded Bowie State's lone victory on day one with a game-high 226 against Norfolk State.
Monroe has also emerged as a top contributor, showcasing her skill and consistency. At the CIAA North/South Event I, Monroe recorded a personal-best 209 in the fourth game against Elizabeth City State and finished the weekend with one of the team's top averages at 173.00.
