Bowie State Women's Bowling Set to Compete at James Brown Invitational

BOWIE, MD -- The Bowie State women's bowling team will be in close proximity this weekend as the Bulldogs are set to compete in the James Brown Invitational hosted by Morgan State University on Friday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, Feb. 16 at The Lanes at Fort Meade.

The event will begin on Friday (2/14) at 9:55 a.m. with five-game Baker matches, followed by team matches (1-5) on Saturday (2/15). On Sunday (2/16), competition will begin at 8:40 a.m. with three best-of-four-of-seven Baker matches, concluding with an awards ceremony.

The Bulldogs showcased their dominance at CIAA Event II, finishing the weekend undefeated with a perfect 12-0 record. Led by standout performances from TaVera Johnson, who bowled 226 and 218 in key matchups, and Jessica Watts with a 196-game, BSU secured decisive wins over Virginia Union, Virginia State, and Elizabeth City State. Their momentum carried through the Baker matches, closing out the event with three straight victories to solidify their commanding presence in the competition.
