ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Bowie State women's bowling team went 5–7 over three days at North/South Event II, hosted by Johnson C. Smith University, competing in a mix of Baker and traditional formats. The Bulldogs move to 22–25 overall and 16–8 in CIAA play.
Bowie State opened the weekend on Friday in the total pinfall format, posting a 2–5 mark. The Bulldogs earned wins over Virginia Union (609–590, 580–515) but fell to Virginia State (702–543, 755–557) and Elizabeth City State (565–557).
Jessica Watts led BSU on day one with a 199 in the opener against Virginia Union.
In Saturday's traditional team play, Bowie State went 1–3. The Bulldogs secured a win over Virginia Union (488–452) while dropping matches to Elizabeth City State (645–598, 606–580) and Virginia State (655–625).
Arianna Clayton recorded the team's top individual performance of the day with a 200 against Elizabeth City State.
The Bulldogs closed the tournament Sunday in Baker play, finishing 2–1. BSU defeated VUU (627–546), fell to VSU (655–604), and capped the weekend with a narrow win over ECSU (622–614).
