Hall of Fame
Ms. Winstead earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, concentration in Finance in 2000. She was a member of Delta Mu Delta National Business Honor Society. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland, Francis Carey King School of Law in 2008.
Ms. Winstead’s athletic career began at Bowie State in 1996. She was All-Conference player in 1998-2000. She was named All Conference, All Regional, and All-Tournament Team Selections during her BSU tenure. Additionally, Ms. Winstead was named Most Valuable Player (MVP), All-Tournament Player, Athletic and Academic All-State. She was a member of the 1997, 1998, and 1999 CIAA Championship Teams.
Community service organizations include Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Board Member (Central Maryland) 2013 to present, The William E. Proudford Sickle Cell Fund, Inc. Advisory Board Member 2013 to present. Professional affiliations include the American Bar Association, National Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, Member of Small Business CEO and Member of Abundant Society. Awards and Honors include Smart CEO’s Legal Elite Recipient in 2012, Recipient of Dean’s Award from the University of Maryland in 2008.
Currently, Ms. Winstead serves as the Director of Low Income Taxpayer Clinic at the University of Maryland, Carey School of Law. Additionally she is a Professor at the University of Maryland, Carey School of Law. She is the owner of the Law Office of Beverly Winstead, LLC and Winstead Tax Group, LLC.
Ms. Beverly Winstead is the proud daughter of Dr. Rachel Obie-Winstead and the late Lewis Winstead.
Ms. Winstead enjoys playing basketball, flag football, golf and cooking.
