Highlights include running the last leg of a 440 relay race: "When I got the baton my opponent was running into the first part of the curve. When my opponent was half through the curve I was beside him. When my opponent came out of the curve I was busting tape for the win! Coach Burns told me that when I got my baton it looked like my opponent "just stopped running". On the back stretch of a 440 run all runners were bunched up. I was told that the announcer exclaimed: "AND IT LOOKS LIKE HE’S SLOWING DOWN, BUT HE’S PASSING EVERYONE! YOU CAN’T DO THAT, BUT HE’S DOING IT!" When I finished the race the closest person behind me was just coming out of the last curve.
